How Platoon Works
Platoon stands up a dedicated Squad for your business: one virtual machine, one AI agent, one automation platform, isolated to you.
Pre-release. This page reflects what's built and tested today, and what we're still building.
The Short Version
You sign in, land on a private desktop, connect your own AI account, connect your email and calendar, start directing your agent from the messaging app you already use, and work with us to build your first automation. Here's what each step looks like, and where each one stands today.
Step 1: Sign In Live today
You get a link to your Squad and sign in with a one-time code emailed to you. There's no password to create or remember. Only emails on your Squad's own allow list can request a code, and that list has no visibility into any other customer's Squad.
Step 2: Your Desktop Being built
After sign-in, you land on a browser-based desktop with your agent, a browser, and your automation platform ready to go. We're building a guided first-run walkthrough so you're not looking at a blank desktop with no next step.
Step 3: Connect Your Own AI Account Being built
Your Squad runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT account, not ours. You sign in and authorize it during setup. Today that's a short one-time command we walk you through together; we're building a simpler, guided version of this step that doesn't require typing a command.
Step 4: Connect Email & Calendar Being built
Your Squad signs into your own Google or Microsoft account inside its own private browser, the same way you would from a new computer. We never see or store your password, only the session your sign-in creates.
One thing to know up front: because this looks like a new device to Google or Microsoft, the first sign-in will likely ask for a phone-based verification step. Have your phone within reach for that first connection.
Step 5: Direct It From the App You Already Use Being built
You don't have to sit at the desktop to get work out of your agent. You direct it from the messaging platform your business already runs on, such as Signal, WhatsApp or Discord, in your own words.
Worth being clear about what this is and isn't. This is not a chatbot that answers questions and forgets you. It's how you assign and supervise work: tell your AI orchestration agent to chase an unanswered quote, prepare Monday's schedule, or follow up on last week's intake, and it does the work on your behalf inside your own accounts and reports back. Direction in, finished work out, in the same thread where you already talk to your team.
The platform underneath already speaks these channels; what we're building is the per-customer setup that connects your Squad to your chosen app safely.
Step 6: Build Your First Automation Partially live
Your automation platform (n8n) is installed and running on your Squad today. Your onboarding includes a guided session where we build your first real workflow together, for example a new-customer intake that runs every step automatically once it's triggered.
Isolation & Data Handling
This is usually the first question a security-minded buyer asks, so here's the straight answer:
- One VM per customer. Squads never share a container, a browser profile, or a host with another customer.
- No exposed ports. Your Squad has no public IP address; it reaches our side only through an outbound-only secure connection.
- Short-lived access only. Sign-in uses one-time email codes, not standing passwords.
- Your AI license, your account. We don't hold or reuse your AI credentials across customers.
- Compliance note: Platoon is a general business-automation product, not a compliance product. If your organization is under a specific regulatory framework, talk to us before onboarding so we can scope it correctly.
